There are a number of ways to improve your dancing. Attend more classes; buy a DVD; or a real short cut to moving up a level is by attending workshops. Ceroc Australia Dance Company also has a wide range of DVD's from beginner to advanced - they're great for helping you remember moves or picking up that special move. Workshops are taught more intensively than classes, and you'll receive detailed assistance to help you progress. We don't just look at the moves, we include more styling and also look at the dance tools to help make the move look good.

So, where do you start? Following is a brief description of some of the workshops available. You are welcome to call the office 02 9905 2468 or speak to your teacher at class for further assistance.

Intro-Intermediate:

If you are a Beginner or a new Intermediate dancer and you want to improve your dancing, then this workshop has the tools for you.

We look at the connection between you and your partner, balance, lead and follow, tension, remembering moves, safety in dips, spins and adding your own style. This workshop will help you break out of the "Learn to Freestyle Class" and get you ready for the Intermediate class.

The more complex moves of the Intermediate classes are taught at a faster pace. This workshop will give you the confidence to move up. By attending this workshop it will help you gain the skills necessary to help you attain the "Freestyler" card, which is required to enter the Intermediate class. You can be assessed for this Freestyler card at classes every week. Speak to the teacher after class.

Style, Spinning & Musicality:

Dancing is more than just moves; it's feeling the music, making music part of your dancing, adding style and looking good on the floor. All levels of dancer can benefit from this workshop, which covers a range of topics. You will learn how to develop your own style, including hand and body movements and some of the tricks to make you look good. You will learn what to listen to in the music and how to include it in your dancing.

After this workshop you will become more confident in musical interpretation and styling. You will understand what they are and how to achieve them. Your dancing will be much more than just doing the moves.

3 Week Style Workshop:

This workshop is geared more towards the Intermediate to Advanced dancer. You know you can learn the dance moves taught in class, but something is missing... This workshop will fill in the gaps.

As it is taught over 3 weeks, each week you will tackle a different aspect of dancing. Your dancing will be videoed so you can see what others see in your dancing. Not only will your style improve as well as your interpretation of music, but you will have the chance of putting it into practice by choreographing a short piece of music (your choice).
This is one of the best workshops you will ever do!

Close Moves & Dips:

These moves require the correct technique. With safety as the highest priority for both you and your partner, these moves are designed to be danced to slower music. They are not taught during normal classes for this reason. These types of moves are definitely impressive allowing you to truly dazzle your audience.
So, if wish to take your dancing in a different direction by including dips and close moves, then this is the workshop for you.

X-Rated Workshop:

This is the most fun workshop you will ever do. You definitely need your own partner for this one as the moves are VERY close. Yes, it's a bit naughty, but you won't hear as much laughter in a workshop as you do in this one.
