The effective date is used for the purpose of determining which categories you are eligible to enter in the Championships. Competitions that you have previously entered or been placed in, are only relevant to the entry criteria if they occured prior to the effective date.

For the Australasian Modern Jive Championships, the effective date is the 1st of January of the year of the Championships.
