Welcome to Ceroc Australia Dance Company Modern Jive Dance Championships 2008, including the VII Australian Masters

Every year in late September or early October, Ceroc Australia Dance Company hosts the Modern Jive Dance Championships, a showcase of all that is 'glamour' in the world of modern jive competitive dancing.

Steve Lampert and Simone Harding competing at the Victorian Championships

Competitors at all levels of modern jive, from almost raw beginner to the very best of dance masters compete to take the Australian titles. These Championships are open to competitors from all over the world.

As well as the competitive element, the Championships day is also a fabulous spectator event for competitor supporters, friends, family as well as regular dance enthusiasts. Starting at approx 3pm and running through 'til late, the North Sydney Leagues Club provides us with fabulous supporting amenities and numerous bars, bistros and restaurants.

There will also be plenty of time for freestyle dancing on the day.

Comments from the 2008 Championships

"Both Steve and I thought the People's Choice competition was a refreshing change to the champs. We thought the judges comments were constructive and professional and we think it could be the start of a very successful event and hope that you continue with it next year." - Sherree Mannix, Spectacular Spectacular

"Had a great time last night. My first championships but I'll go again. It was awe inspiring plus a bit intimidating at the same time. I came away with a lot of ideas. I liked that you opened up the floor to free dancing between heats. It meant there was no down time. I danced till the end." - Brett White

"Fantastic! Just loved the whole night. Really entertaining. We've never been to the Champs before, but we'll be going every year. It was absolutely fabulous." - Lynn Creek

People's Choice Championship Category.
