Modern Jive Dance Championships 2009

Every year in late September or early October, Ceroc Australia Dance Company hosts the Modern Jive Dance Championships, a showcase of all that is 'glamour' in the world of modern jive competitive dancing.

Competitors at all levels of modern jive, from almost raw beginner to the very best of dance masters compete to take the Australian titles. These Championships are open to competitors from all over the world.

As well as the competitive element, the Championships day is also a fabulous spectator event for competitor supporters, friends, family as well as regular dance enthusiasts. Starting at approx 3pm and running through 'til late, the North Sydney Leagues Club provides us with fabulous supporting amenities and numerous bars, bistros and restaurants.

There will also be plenty of time for freestyle dancing on the day.

This year's competition will be held on Saturday 12 September 2009.

This year will be different as in addition to the Friday night party and Saturday Championships we are planning to run workshops on the Sunday afternoon followed by a Tea Dance, making a full weekend of dance.

Showcase Event 2009 - Incorporating the People's Choice Prize

Following the success of the inaugural event of the People's Choice Competition in 2008, we have refined the competition by re-introducing the Showcase Event which, for the first time, will be judged by both the official judges and the audience. So, competitors have the chance to win two prizes - the Judges' Prize and the People's Choice Prize. This should prove to be a very exciting event.
